Plumleaf PDF

Privacy Policy

App: Plumleaf PDF (Android, package com.plumleaf.pdf)
Effective date: 6 October 2026

The short version

1Your documents and app data

Plumleaf PDF lets you open, edit, convert, organize and protect PDF files. You choose which files the app works with, using Android's file picker or photo picker, or by opening a file in Plumleaf PDF from another app. Opening, editing, converting and saving all happen on your device.

While you work on a file, the app keeps a temporary working copy in its private storage on your device. Working copies are deleted when you finish a task and each time the app starts. The app never changes your original file unless you choose "Replace the original" and confirm.

Passwords you type to open or protect a PDF are held in memory only for that session. They are never saved or logged.

The app also keeps, in its private storage on your device only:

Names of recently opened filesLet you reopen them quickly (you can clear them)

The developer runs no servers and never receives your documents or any of this data. There is no analytics or crash-reporting software in the app, and no Plumleaf PDF account.

2Permissions

Plumleaf PDF does not request camera, storage, photos and media, contacts, location, microphone, SMS or phone permissions.

  • Files and photos: you pick them with Android's system file picker and photo picker, which give the app access only to the items you choose.
  • Taking a photo: "Take photo" opens your phone's own camera app; Plumleaf PDF receives only the photo you take.
  • Internet: used only by Google's advertising tools described below. Your documents are never sent over the internet by the app.
3Advertising (Google AdMob)

The app shows ads through Google AdMob. To serve and measure ads, and to prevent fraud, Google may collect and use:

  • If you are in a US state with a privacy law that applies, you can opt out of the sale or sharing of your data through Google's privacy message.
  • Ads are limited to a "PG" (parental guidance) content rating or lower, and dating, gambling, get-rich-quick and sexual ad categories are blocked.
  • You can reset your advertising ID, or opt out of personalised ads, in Android Settings.

4Children

Plumleaf PDF is not directed at children under 13, and does not knowingly collect their data.

5Keeping and deleting your data

The developer holds no user data, so there is nothing for the developer to delete. You control your data:

  • Delete your PDF files to delete the data in them.
  • Clear recent files and tool suggestions in the app, and delete saved signatures in the signature list.
  • Uninstall the app to delete everything it keeps in its private storage on your device.
6Security

Your documents stay on your device, in the app's private storage that other apps cannot read. Network traffic for ads is handled by Google over HTTPS.
